  • The DAM Mellègue (سد ملاق) or dam of Nebeur is a tunisian dam built between 1949 and 1956, on the oued Mellègue, approximately seven kilometers to the west of the city of Nebeur (Governorate of Kef).

The dam, type multiple vaults of great scope, has a height of 65 meters and its crest length is 470 meters. The Weir, the type jump of skiing with averaging of the blade, has a maximum flow rate of 5 400 m3/s.

The tank has a maximum area of 1600 hectares and the length of the retainer is 18 kilometers. The siltation of the tank is important and poses serious problems. The waters of the oued Mellègue are indeed very muddy, including in flood periods.

The creation of the book had three goals: the interannual regularization of the oued Mellègue in order to avoid the flooding of the plain of Jendouba, irrigation of the lower valley of the Medjerda and the production of electricity.
